About Us

What We Do

Relaia aims to become the reference point for end-to-end collective intelligence solutions. We are an innovative startup and benefit corporation partnered with the University of Bologna that builds digital tools for a future where social and relational dimensions are included in automation, simulation, and anticipation systems for territorial planning and strategy.

We believe in developing products and systems that serve territories where advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence are used to improve the lives of communities, enhancing their unique cultural traits, and enabling multiple desirable futures. Systems where everyone can contribute to finding solutions and where control over necessary data and algorithms can be distributed, where intelligence becomes a collective property thanks to hybrid human and non-human systems.

Our first products solve problems of digitizing community participation in complex decision-making processes, as well as harmonizing the resulting indications with strategic planning tools. At the core is an innovative design method for developing advanced algorithmic systems that makes them simultaneously open, secure, and ethically sound. We want to scale this approach by creating the world's largest API library for the fusion of data concerning socio-cultural components, integrable into systems for urban/territorial monitoring and management, digital twins, and applications of all kinds.

We work with public entities, companies, and non-governmental organizations to create tools and platforms that support principles of inclusive governance and promote a sustainable and fair vision of technological development.

Our Team

We are a multidisciplinary team deeply rooted in research, with experience in creating technology companies.

Our spectrum of expertise encompasses process design, human-machine interaction, digital technology, urban planning, civic participation, and data management.

As a benefit corporation, positive impact is an integral part of our model. We believe that innovation must incorporate an ethical and social dimension from its conception.
